When a Cove DW24 finishes with water in the base, the drain cycle did not move the water out. Cove does not display fault codes, so there is no number to look up, but the drain path is straightforward: filter, sump, hose, sink connection, and pump. A blockage anywhere along it produces standing water, and most of those blockages are at the easy end you can inspect yourself.
Work the Drain Path
Start at the filter assembly in the base of the tub, the most common blockage and the easiest to clear, then check the sump beneath it for debris or glass. Behind the machine, confirm the drain hose is not kinked or clogged, and check the sink side, including a garbage disposer whose drain knockout may not have been removed on a recent install. Finally, the drain pump can jam on a hard object.
| Cause | How to Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Clogged filter | Twist out and inspect | Rinse and refit |
| Debris in the sump | Look below the filter | Clear it out |
| Kinked or clogged hose | Check behind the machine | Straighten or clear |
| Jammed drain pump | Object in the impeller | Clear the pump |
| Blocked sink connection | Check the air gap or disposer | Clear the knockout or air gap |
When to Call
If the filter, hose, sump, and sink connection are clear and it still holds water, the drain pump or a control fault needs testing. Our Cove maintenance guide covers filter care that prevents this, and our not-drying guide covers the other common Cove complaint.
